PROJECT OVERVIEW

Villa Vanowen is a 64-unit, affordable and supportive housing development in the Van Nuys neighborhood that will provide affordable studio apartment homes and on-site supportive services by The People Concern.

Villa Vanowen will be developed as a four-story, 39,000-square-foot building. The first floor is comprised of a visitor’s lobby, community room with kitchen, bicycle storage and a bicycle maintenance area, resident service coordination/case management, and administrative offices. There will also be two second-floor roof decks consisting of 1,140 square feet.

Construction commenced in Summer 2023 with completion expected in Spring 2025.

This project was made possible through the investment of public and private partners including:

  • $10,000,000 in Proposition HHH funding through the City of Los Angeles Housing Department
  • $9,020,000 in capital funds through the Los Angeles County Development Authority’s No Place Like Home Program
  • 63 project-based vouchers through The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles
  • Construction financing by Bank of America
  • Permanent financing by Citi Community Capital
  • Equity investment by Bank of America
  • Acquisition financing by Century Housing Corporation
