The Beacon Virtual Grand Opening

Join Mayor Robert Garcia, the development team, and community partners in celebrating the opening of The Beacon: an award-winning affordable community providing 160 homes for vulnerable Long Beach Seniors and Veterans.

Please begin by watching the video presentation, below.

The Beacon, comprised of Beacon Place and Beacon Pointe, is a 160-unit mixed-use, affordable and permanent supportive housing community in downtown Long Beach. This award-winning transit-oriented development is located across the street from the Metro A Line, includes approximately 6,000 SF of retail space, and is LEED Gold certified. All units, exclusive of the managers’ units, feature project-based vouchers with residents paying 30% of their income toward rent.

Century purchased the 1.60-acre site in 2014 and utilized a vertical air lot subdivision to split Beacon Place and Beacon Pointe into separate parcels with a shared courtyard and parking garage.

Total Development Cost: $20.3M

Wow! Came upon this while searching for housing for myself--transitional living is too stressful, but living in car is worse,, i think. My mental health issues, especially anxiety amd depression, ptsd, etc in which I am loyal in treatment, but need a place of my own, instead of half a room--shared with ppl who don't address issues, oh my! Drama! This looks like a dream come true. I do not feel that I should expect this in my lifetime...a beautiful prayer and wish. 😃 ❤ 😇 Great Video! Thanks 😊
